...there was this girl. She was a very social girl, and when she finally joined the blogging bandwagon, she ate it up. She thought of things to post all the time, and looked constantly for any feedback to her posts, because she loves validation. And she read everybody else's posts the moment they were up, and commented because of the social being she is.
And then that girl got pregnant again with her fourth.
On purpose. : )
And she remembered it was going to be hard, but it's even harder when you're actually in the middle of it, not just remembering it's hard. And her need for sleep seems to just increase more and more. Uninterrupted sleep, mind you. (aaah, how you miss it when you no longer get it)
But even though it's hard, her new baby is so completely adorable, and her other children have such wonderful moments that she relishes. (This song, called "Pachelbel Bedtime," is a good 'ole favorite that demonstrates how hard the whining and crying is, but how you still love those kids and wouldn't change anything for the world)
So, blogging has fallen by the wayside a bit, but that girl hopes that there will be a time and a place where she can keep up a little bit more and start putting up posts of the funny things her kids say. And then maybe she can even start catching up on all of your posts, too!
Uh oh, that little girl's baby just woke up from his nap, and the groceries must be bought, the kids picked up, the dentist appointments completed, and then possible a trip to the pool after some homework and reading time. Time to go. But she'll be back sporadically. ; )

I'm glad you haven't forgotten us here in blog world. I think that the length of the maternity leave multiplies by the number of kids you have. You probably still have a year before you have to be back to semi-weekly posts. No worries. I do LOVE it when you post though.
I found this on facebook and clicked and was suddenly on your blog. I would very much like to babysit that "adorable" baby. I hope he's not grown when I see him again.
Hang in there--before you know it they are "all growed up" and gone and then you miss it all!
That...is a great post!
You have NO IDEA how completely you just took the words right out of my mouth. I am feeling EXACTLY the same way. Baby number 4 (pregnancy and her first few months) really took it out of me and kept me out of the blogging, email, FB world. And oh, how I've missed it! I swear (but I don't do that) that the two of us are two hearts of the same mind, or something else poetic sounding. In fact, people have commented, my mom in particular, about how similar you and I are. Boy (it would be nice to have one of those, wanna swap?), it would be fun to hang out again. One of these days maybe! It sure would be fun to get your 4 boys and my 4 girls together--maybe your hubby and mine can discuss their gender secrets (why all yours are boys and all ours girls). One of these days we'll have a boy; at least I hope so, but not anytime soon. I'm still recovering from the last 4!
Julia, where do you live? Are you in Utah? We're visiting right now. I loved seeing Aunt Nancy at the little weekend reunion. And I saw Melissa, and Meghan. I would have loved to see you too. I do feel like you and I are a lot alike. And I have been told that Aunt Nancy lurks on my blog, which I love to hear. : )
And Katie--have I EVER done semi-weekly posts? ; )
And mom--isn't it cool how I can link FB to any new blog posts? I kill two birds with one stone that way. : )
And thank you, Kristy, for liking my post! And yes, speaking of your comment on a newer post, I try to eat Carter all the time. He is so yummy. ; )
I would love to talk with you and commiserate! : )
Haha! That totally happened to me. I am only now *thinking* about catching up on blogs, etc. -- maybe. ;)
